GUYS I FIGURED OUT THE DRESS

Ok I took samples of the picture in photoshop and it looks like the colors are kind of ambiguously in between what people are seeing. It’s sort of dark gold and blueish white. Because of this and the weird lighting of the picture, people are perceiving the picture differently. It can look like either a brightly lit blue and black dress or a darkly lit white and gold dress but because we don’t see the light source one has to assume either or. 

You just made an optical illusion by accident it’s kind of like this one

This is a common optical illusion, the squares A and B are the same color but because of the way our eyes perceive lighting they look different. It’s the same with the dress.
